According to US This episode starts out at the beach. As if
there's another locale that'd be appropriate. The brothers are
walking, and Joey is saying to Mick that he wants to be just like him.
Mick doesn't understand why, and then a group of girls walk past and smile at
him. (of course!) Joey is incredulous - he says, "Girls - they look
at you!" (again, of course!) Mick tells him he just has to be
still...and the girls will notice. So Joey decides to try it out
right then and there. He stops, closes his eyes and mutters, "Be
still." A woman walks up behind Joey and asks if they are the
Barrett brothers. Mick smiles. Joey has a "I can't believe
it" look on his face. She introduces herself as Caroline
Becker, and that she has come thousands of miles to find them. She
refers to Mick & Joey as "Gordon's men". She explains that
her father is a scientist who works for the government, and is now on the run
from terrorists. She wants Mick & Joey to help her find him. She
is a teacher at a French convent school, and really needs their help.
Mick tells her they don't do terrorists, they are surfers.
He then tells her that the people that are after her father are probably also
after her, and she could be in danger. They suddenly see a car full of men
coming toward them, Caroline pulls Mick into a long (and I mean loooonng,
movie quality!) kiss. Long after the car has driven away, the two
are still kissing. Joey is telling them to break it up, then annoyingly
tells them that there are kids near. (*I* was starting to feel a bit
jealous, actually) Mick and Caroline end the kiss, and she says,
"Won't you help me?" Suddenly, the car is back. It
stops and the men get out and start running toward them. Mick, Joey
& Caroline run, and jump into the back of a newspaper truck. They
get away, and Mick tells Joey to call Gordon. Caroline then tells
them that Gordon is her Godfather, and not to tell him she is there as he will
worry.
Gordon says he is happy that Mick called, as he has a job for him. Mick says, "Let me guess, an old friend of yours is in trouble." Gordon explains that Caroline's father, Edmund Becker developed a virus that could shut down the whole country's computers. Terrorists found out about this virus, and now he has gone into hiding. He sent Gordon a message in code, and Fritz was working on deciphering it. Fritz tells them she figured out part of it, and instructs the boys to go to the Sun Valley landing strip - a plane will be waiting for them there. When they arrive at the air strip, the pilot introduces himself as Gordon's brother-in-law. He is upset they have Caroline with them, he states Gordon said nothing about a girl. Mick says, "There's always a girl!" (ain't that right) The car from earlier pulls up at the air strip. Joey yells, "Oh no, they're here!" and the Pilot asks, "Is there someone after ya?" Joey explains that they are the bad guys. The Pilot says "Gordon didn't say nothing about no bad guys." Joey says, "There's always bad guys." (funny thing is, these guys don't look like stereo-typical terrorists - they're Caucasian, and wearing suits) They hop aboard the plane, and Caroline asks Mick why she doesn't shoot them. Joey tells her Mick doesn't believe in guns, and Mick adds, "I'm funny that way." The "bad guys" start shooting at the plane. The Pilot is bitching that he just had the plane painted. They take off into the air, and Mick asks where they are headed. The Pilot says, "Tiri Tiri". Caroline explains that it's a small island off the coast of Costa Rica. Joey asks her what the surf is like there. :-) Fritz, smoking a cigar - calls the plane. She explains that a lear jet took off shortly after they did, and it is after them. They are not to land at the airport, but must parachute out in the jungle of the island. Their message is "Seeking sanctuary and praying for deliverance" and they are to avoid the local police. Joey then discovers there are only two parachutes on the plane. So Caroline has to suit up with Mick. (this girl is just having the luckiest day!) Right before they jump, Caroline tells Mick that she has never known any guys like them. She wishes they had met under different circumstances. Joey chimes in, "Me too!" They jump. This next scene is a classic, in my opinion. Mick & Caroline land, with Mick on top of her. She's moaning and groaning, and he chimes in on the moans (I mean, if you can - turn off the pic and just listen) and then she says, "That was incredible! I've never felt anything like that before!" Mick rolls off of her and grins, and she looks at him and says, "I meant the jump!" Very, very funny scene. They hear Joey off in the distance calling for help. When they find him, he is hanging from a tree. Once Mick & Caroline get Joey out of the tree, he asks what the plan is. Mick says they need to find Caroline's father. Joey tells Mick that's not a plan, that's an objective. The threesome start walking towards town. As darkness falls, they decide to camp out for the night. As they are sitting around the campfire, Mick asks Caroline to try to figure out where her Dad may be hiding. He's hoping once they get into town, they can find a clue somewhere. They decide to get some sleep, and Caroline snuggles up to Mick. (bitch!) In the morning, a very crabby Joey is complaining that he didn't get any sleep as he was watching out that they didn't end up as "blue-plate specials". They reach a road, and just when they decide they should stay away from the road, a military-like jeep pulls up. One of the men asks for their passports. Joey says, "Passports, we don't need no stinkin' passports!" The four men draw their guns. Joey, Mick & Caroline are now in jail in the next scene. Joey is panicking, stating he feels like a caged animal and can't breathe. Mick tells him they've only been there 10 minutes. Their cell mate asks what middle-class boys like them did to get into jail. Joey tells him, "Parachuting without a passport." The cellmate introduces himself as Minion Jackson (okay, for the first few times he and Rick said the name, I thought it was Gideon - I had to check the credits for that one) and tells them he is an attorney. He hands Mick his card. Mick reads, "Minion Jackson, Quality Landscape Architect". He tells Mick to read the other side. "Minion Jackson, Attorney at Law". Joey asks how he's going to help them if he's in jail himself. Minion tells them not to worry, he'll be out soon - now that they've got them. They wouldn't want a witness to the torture. Joey gets all nervous, and Mick tells him that Minion is just trying to scare him. |

| Minion is released, and while he is gathering his
things, he sees the *bad guys* talking with the authorities.
He leaves, and Mick, Joey & Caroline are then retrieved from the
cell and released. They look confused, but leave.
Minion flags them down outside and tells them "Three scary looking
Republicans were paying your bail." He shows them his
cab (yes, he is a cab driver as well) and agrees to help them as long as
he gets part of their reward. Mick tells him his reward will have
to be C.O.D. Mick tells Minion to take them to a monastery,
as he has a hunch.
Caroline & Minion stay outside of the monastery as Mick and Joey go inside. They find Edmund. Caroline walks in pointing a gun. Edmund states that is NOT Caroline. Joey says, "You're the bad guy?" Mick then states he knew she was a phony all along. The "Republicans" come in behind her, and they all explain they are with the CIA. "Caroline's name is really Phelps (they give no first name) and the other agent is Cook. There were never terrorists chasing Edmund, and they were not planning on harming anyone. Mick snarkily exclaims that they were just hired to lead them to Edmund (no, really?). Edmund states he has destroyed everything related to the virus. Phelps states they should take him back to the states anyway, as he still has everything in his head. They plead with Edmund that they don't want to use the virus, they just want to have it just in case. Outside, Minion wakes up rubbing his head. He sees a military truck loaded with men approaching. Inside, Mick and Joey are being tied up by the CIA agents. Phelps kisses Mick good-bye, with another looong, involved kiss. Joey leans over and says, "Hey Phelps, what about me?" with a wink. She walks away, telling Mick she will miss him. Outside, the CIA agents are arrested for bribing an official. They act shocked, and the officer explains that they knew he was corrupt when they bribed him earlier. He figures "the priest" must be valuable to someone. They load everyone up into their truck. Minion comes in the monastery and unties Mick & Joey. The brothers catch him up to date, and explain they must catch Phelps. As they are running out to the cab, Minion explains he knows a short cut, and they can head them off at the pass, as "there's always a pass!" The next scene we see the cab blocking the road and the truck pulls up. Minion tells the men that the battery is dead and asks them to come out and help him push the cab out of the road. As they get off the truck, a fight ensues. (I just love watching Rick do the tae-kwon-do moves). Joey & Mick then tie up the CIA agents, and now the scene is reversed. Mick gives Phelps a long slow kiss and tells her he will miss her. As Mick, Joey & Edmund drive away with Minion he tells them he knows a guy who can rent them a boat. He hands them another card. This one says, "Minion Jackson, Exotic Pet Grooming" on one side, the other reads "Boat Charter Service". After the commercial, Mick & Joey are back on the beach at home. Mick is talking to Gordon on the phone. Gordon explains that Phelps & Cook were maverick agents, and were not following orders and have been suspended. Gordon also says that he received a bill from a Minion Jackson for attorney services and bait and tackle. Mick tells him to just pay it, and hangs up. Joey asks him how he knew that Caroline was a phony. Mick says it was the way that she kissed, a woman who kisses like that did not spend any time in a convent. A blonde woman walks up to the boys, and asks if they are the Barrett brothers. They want to know who wants to know? She says she is Caroline Becker and she is there to thank them for helping her father. She walks up and kisses Joey. Mick squeaks, "I helped too!" She grabs Joey by the hand and asks him to tell her all about it, and they walk away leaving Mick standing on the beach. - Michelle P. |

| Now this episode I really like! It is so funny how
Rick's humor shines through in Mick. The laughs (oohh those dimples) and
those comical facial expressions are priceless. My favorite scene is the jump from the airplane and the landing. Mick is hilarious looking with that helmet and goggles on as he looks at "Caroline" like he really thinks he had given her pleasure by landing on top of her - whoa baby! I also love the funny, sarcastic attitude he gives her when he tells her goodbye and he will miss her (with another hot kiss!). The look on his face when he walks off is just too cute. The best part is at the end when the real Caroline shows up and is so thankful to Joey and seems to just be ignoring Mick (what is wrong with her? LOL) and Mick just watches them walk off together with another hilarious expression on that gorgeous face. This has to be my favorite episode yet. - Amy L. |

| I love this episode of High Tide. It's quite comical how it starts out. Mick & Joey are strolling down the sidewalk in Malibu eating & talking, and Joey is telling Mick how he wants to be more like him. He wants to be able to attract women the way Mick does. He says that women run to him because he "smells" like an ex-cop. Mick tells Joey that if he wants women to come to him he has to stand still! And then lo & behold, a woman does run up to them, begging for their help. She says her name is Caroline Becker. I like how Mick says, "I'd excuse you if you were Medusa!" That's too cute! She knows they're Gordon's men….hmmm I wonder how? She is hunting her father who has disappeared with a "new invention," and has terrorists after him. Mick's like, "we don't DO terrorists, we're surfers." Why not Mick? You brothers have done other crazy things for your buddy Gordon! They tell Miss Becker that these "terrorists" could be looking for her, and then what do you know….here they come, cruising down the strip looking for Caroline. So she grabs Mick and kisses him (so she can hide her face? Or because he's Mick? Hmmmm…I will say, because it's Mick/Rick!) Anyway, it's a long kiss as they wait for the "bad guys" to go on by. But they continue to kiss after the guys are gone! (well can you blame her?) Favorite line: Joey says, "guys they're gone. Can I get you anything?! How about some oxygen? Guys there`s kids around here!" What a hoot! When they finally break out of the lip-lock, Mick tells her it's not something they want to be involved in. But of course they already are! So the chase is on….the bad guys spot the 3, and take off on foot chasing them. They jump in the back of a newspaper delivery truck, where Caroline tells them some "surprising" news! She is Gordon's Goddaughter. How odd! Who would ever have guessed! She doesn't want Gordon to know that she's with them, so when Mick talks to Gordon on the cell phone, he has to act like Caroline isn't there. Gordon has a job for the Barrett brothers, involving Caroline's dad, Edmund Becker (the computer expert). The story is that Edmund was working on some computer codes and accidentally came up with a virus that if unleashed could shut down EVERYTHING…including government operations & defense systems! So now Edmund is in hiding, since a group of terrorists broke into his lab trying to gain the codes. Fortunately Edmund has his "stuff" with him in hiding! Gordon says that Caroline is in a convent school in Switzerland & that she needs to be protected. She can't know about any of this. Gordon wants the guys to get right on the case, and find Edmund. So Mick tells him that the terrorists are already after he & Joey. Cute line when Gordon says, "how do you know they're terrorists?" and Mick looks at Joey & Caroline & shrugs, "because Jehovah's Witnesses don't carry guns?" Fritz tells Mick that they need to get to the airport where a plane is waiting for them. Oh I love the comment from the pilot…(he tells Joey) "from Fritz's description, I'd have assumed you were a chimpanzee." How funny! So the "bad guys" chase the plane down the runway, shooting at them. But Joey & Mick ward them off by throwing what looks like bags of flour at their windshield. So they are headed for Tiri Tiri, a small island off the coast of Costa Rica. Little do they know, they're gonna have to bail out of the plane by parachute. Mick & Fritz go back & forth about the plan by phone, and she informs them they'll be jumping into the jungle. Edmund Becker's message to Fritz is that he'll be seeking sanctuary & praying for deliverance. Also, Beckers daughter has disappeared from her school, Fritz tells Mick, and she is searching for daddy. |

It's now time to jump, but there's a quandary. There's only 2 parachutes, so Caroline hooks onto Mick (and flirts with him might I add) & then out they go. This was a great-looking scene as they parachuted. Hmmm….I doubt that was really Rick. When they land, Mick lands on top of Caroline & they wallow around in the grass a bit. Adorable lines & a classic look on Rick's face (what you could see under his helmet) when Caroline says, "that was incredible. I`ve never felt anything like that before," and Mick raises up & quite proudly says, "really?" She tells him….I meant the jump! Poor Mick…he tried anyway! They find Joey hanging from a tree, he makes it down & they start their jungle trek. Finally the 3 must camp for the night. Mick has such a nice glow by the campfire! Mick questions Caroline for any info about where they could locate her father tomorrow, and she is so clueless. But then she snuggles down with Mick for the night.
Awww! Next day they run upon a jeep full of officials in the jungle who ask to see a passport. Another clever & comical line…Joey trying to make light of their predicament says, "passport, we don't need no steen-king passport!" The boy cracks me up! Next scene, Joey is going full drama over the fact that he, Mick & Caroline got tossed in the slammer. Fortunately they have a jack-of-all-trades in the cell beside them named Ninion (spelling?) This character is one of the high points of this episode. He is full of "useful" information. He is supposedly a lawyer, according to the business card he gives them. So the gang finally gets out of jail (as did Ninion) & they hook up with Ninion in his hysterical looking taxi. (He's a taxi driver too!) He tells them that some Republicans bailed them out, he saw them as he was leaving the jail. The taxi scene is quite funny as they cut up & make wise cracks….but despite the joking, they also come up with an idea. Maybe Becker is in a church (sanctuary, seeking shelter?) Mick & Joey venture into the church & leave Caroline & Ninion outside to keep watch. There they find Becker dressed as a priest (or so they are checking to see if it`s him) & they tell him the secret message that Fritz gave them. Becker knows then that they are indeed the Barrett brothers & he's thrilled to learn Caroline is with them. But to his dismay, and Mick & Joey`s, it's not his daughter after all. "Caroline" enters the church with gun in hand talking of how she wants freedom, money & power. Then in comes a pack of other bad guys. But apparently they're actually CIA agents who already put a stop to the real terrorists and her name is really Agent Phelps. The CIA used the brothers to "flush out" Becker, so they could retrieve "government property" (the computer virus/code). Becker tells them that all the stuff is destroyed, but they don't care…they will take Becker anyway & try to get the info out of him. After all, he knows it by memory! Poor Ninion is recovering from a whack to the head by Phelps, when he sees a group of officials pull up with guns. Meanwhile, the CIA tie up Mick & Joey, and Phelps tells Mick that it really was a pleasure working with him, and then she leans down to give him a rather juicy kiss. J What a shame they couldn't have met under different circumstances! As she leaves she looks back and says to Mick, "I'll miss you!" Sadly for the CIA, a Tiri Tiri policeman is waiting & says they are all under arrest for bribing a government official. (getting them to let the Barrett brothers out of jail!) And the cop wants to know why this "priest" (Becker) is so valuable that they'd be walking him out at gunpoint. He intends to find out! So the corrupt cop & his men lead the CIA & Becker away. Ninion strolls into the church jabbering up a storm, telling Mick & Joey about the scene that just unfolded outside. Mick is getting more frustrated by the minute, telling Ninion to PLEASE untie them. Great acting on Rick's part in this scene! Love the impatience! It does kind of make you want to scream at Ninion along with him. ("look we're wasting time here man!") Classic line from Ninion, "ok, ok…don't get your panties in a bunch!" LOL… So they run for the taxi & take a cut through the jungle roads until they head off the crooked authorities who now have Phelps & her men & Becker. They succeed in capturing everyone after a series of swift kicks & cool moves, and then tie them to the side of the truck! Turn about is fair play, right? Now we'll tie YOU up! I love how Mick is going down the line of "prisoners" and gloating. Pay back is hell isn't it? When he reaches Phelps he leans in and says, "it really was a pleasure working with ya," then gently cups her face in his hand & kisses her. As Mick walks off he looks back to her and says, "Hey Phelps! I'll miss ya!" Then he chuckles proudly….and it seems I can hear Rick in that laugh, rather than just Mick. What a great laugh he has J She deserved it after tying up Mick & Joey…she had it coming to her! All in a days work for the Barrett brothers! Ninion, Becker, Mick & Joey head to the cab, discussing how to get off the island, when Ninion says he knows a guy who charters a boat, and he can even get them a real deal (possibly even some fishing). But Ninion wants to go along. He sure doesn't want to stick around the jungle looking for more trouble! Well what do you know, Ninion flips out another of his famous two-sided business cards, and HE'S the one with the boat. So off they go in the flashy cab. Way to go Ninion! You're the man with the plan! Last scene: great eye-candy for anyone who likes the look of Rick in a wet suit with his hair looking perfect, while he's basking in the sun. Oh, and of course chatting on the cell with Gordon! Turns out, according to Gordon, that Phelps & her guys had no business trying to get a hold of Becker in the first place, and that they were only running a maverick operation. They received discipline from their authorities! When Joey asks Mick how he could tell "Caroline" was a phony, Mick says it was in the way she kissed. Yeah right Mick! Good one…..you said yourself you wanted to "protect her." We saw how you looked at her. He was snagged from the start. Joey tells Mick that he still wants to be like him, and Mick gives him important brotherly advice. He needs to just be himself. Be Joey! Then at last they meet the REAL Caroline Becker, who naturally is a blonde beach babe, not at all like someone in convent school! She greets them on the beach and immediately moves in on Joey, locking eyes with him, wanting to know about all his bravery in rescuing her father. Mick looks like a whipped puppy for a few seconds, saying "hey, I helped save him too." But he quickly sees that Joey just has "a way" with women, and that Caroline can't take her eyes off his little bro. Mick looks impressed as Joey spills his heroic story to Caroline. I will give this one 5 waves…for the strong acting on Rick's end, the great one-liners, the funny lines from Joey, Mick & the pilot, and the character Ninion, who I couldn't help but love! - Kelley Pearson |
