Not Fade Away

I wanna tell you how it's gonna be
You're gonna give your love to me
I'm gonna love you night and day
Love is love and not fade away
Well love is love and not fade away
And my love is bigger than a Cadillac
I'll try to show it if you drive me back

Your love for me has got to be real
Before you'd have noticed how I feel
Love real not fade away
Well love real not fade away
Yeah

I wanna tell you how it's gonna be
You're gonna give your love to me
Love that lasts more than one day
Well love is love and not fade away
Well love is love and not fade away
Well love is love and not fade away
Well love is love and not fade away
Not fade away
Not fade away

This was one of the first pop songs to feature the "Bo Diddley" sound, a series of beats (da, da, da, da-da da) popularized by Diddley, who used it on his first single "Bo Diddley." The signature beat originated in West Africa and was adopted by Diddley in the US, where many artists have used it since.
Holly recorded this on May, 1957 with The Crickets at Norman Petty studios in Clovis, NM. It was written by Charles Hardin and Norman Petty, "Charles Hardin" being Buddy Holly, whose real name was Charles Hardin Holley.
This was released as the B-side of "Oh Boy!"

This was the Stones first UK top 10 hit. Their previous 2 singles were "I Wanna Be Your Man" (written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney) and "Come On" (written by Chuck Berry).
