Billie's
Bikie Boys
(Johnny Young )
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Watch out!
The girls on the streets turn their heads
When Bill and his boys come riding by
The mothers would warn them about him
And I’m here to tell you why
When Bill was a boy he’d fight
Every guy in school, ha!
He’d ride on his bike
Through the streets and break every single rule!
Billie’s Bikie Boys
Watch out!
Here they come
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
The timing has come and Billie at last must meet his fate
The cops have arrived and are chasing him round
And round and round
They clocked him at 100 miles per hour
There is peace in the town
No more will we hear this sound
Watch out!
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na

Facts: This was a single for one of Rick's earlier bands - Wickedy
Wak. It was released on Sunshine in August '69. But by the time the single hit the airwaves Rick had already taken his next step up the ladder of stardom, replacing Roger Hicks as the guitarist in Zoot |

According
to US
The music in this song sounds very much like some of the music from the late 60`s. So it is not what I'd call a "stand-out" song, or one that is really unique and different. The song is also quite short. The motorcycle sounds are odd. I'm not real sure WHAT I think of that sound effect. Part of me likes it, and the other part of me is unsure. There are lots of those usual "nah nah nah's" in this one. I really like the guitars in the song and I love Rick's voice! They KNEW a great voice when they heard it. It's nice that Rick got to sing here, even if he didn't write the song. I always enjoy his singing voice from before he "lost" his accent. It is a nice treat to hear a song from Wickedy Wak, since I didn't know if there were any good recordings from them floating around out there. Maybe there are others….
There is not too much going on lyrically with this song, other than a story about "Billy" who is apparently a rebel on a motorcycle, riding through town with his buddies, causing the girls to turn and look, and disturbing the peace! The cops finally catch up with the "speed demon" and now there are no more roaring engines racing around town. That is really about it with this song. Again, not much going on or anything to ponder about. It is pretty self-explanatory. I am glad Rick's "break" came shortly afterwards. As we all know, he is SOOO much better than this!

I really do like this song and probably would have if I had heard it way
back then. It has a very classic late 60's psychedelic sound and
instrumentation. I remember my cousin and brother had guitars, and if you didn't have a
Wa-Wa bar, you just weren't cool. I think this song was pretty much current for its
time (it brings to mind Easy Rider)
with the use of the motorcycle sounds. I liked Rick's vocal except for the very pronounced "HA" early on in the
song. It just sounds strange and out of place somehow. I would like to hear more of Wickedy Wak's
music if it were available. Elizabeth S.
