WHENEVER I CALL YOU FRIEND
(Words and Music by Kenny Loggins and Melissa Manchester )

Whenever I Call You Friend
I begin to think I understand
Anything we are
You and I have always been ever and ever

I see myself within your eyes
And that's all I need to show me why
Everything I do, always takes me home to you

Now I know my life has given me
More than memories
Day by day we can see
In every moment there's a reason to carry on

Sweet love showin' us a heavenly light
I've never seen such a beautiful sight
Sweet love glowin on us every night
I know forever we'll be doin' it

Sweet love showin' us a heavenly light
I've never seen such a beautiful sight
Sweet love glowin on us every night
I know forever we'll be doin' it...right

Whenever I Call You Friend
I believe I've come to understand
Everywhere we are you and I were meant to be
Forever and ever

I think about the times to come
Knowin' I will be the lucky one
Ever our love will last
I always want to call you friend

Sweet love showin' us a heavenly light
I've never seen such a beautiful sight
Sweet love glowin on us every night
I know forever we'll be doin' it

I see myself within your eyes
And it's all I need to show me why
Everything I do, always takes me home to you, ever and ever

Now I know my life has given me more than memories, day by day
We can see
And every moment there's a reason to carry on

Sweet love showin' us a heavenly light
I've never seen such a beautiful sight
Sweet love glowin on us every night
I know forever we'll be doin' it, doing it

Sweet love showin' us a heavenly light
I've never seen such a beautiful sight
Sweet love glowin on us every night
I know forever we'll be doin' it, doing it,
(doing it, doing it) doing it, doing it, (doing it, doing it) doing it, doing it, doing it, doing it, doing it right!

C'mon, admit it. When it started up and you gazed upon that pink suit (and no one but Rick could pull that look off in the 80's, I swear) you just wanted to scream, "Dr Noah Drake!". Sigh...I miss that look. But for a minute there, I felt 13 again. Yeah, this a cheesy song, yeah Cheryl's not that great of a singer, yeah Rick was stretching the voice a bit in this song too...but for some reason this clip just made me smile all the way thru :-) Once Rick & Cheryl got next to each other, it kind of made ya glad they had been apart for the beginning of the song due to the pangs of jealously hitting me when he gave her the "once over". Yowsa! I swear that was the actor in him coming out tho- because he timed it just a bit too perfectly with the words of the song, eh? Rick's dance moves also remind me of a bit that Eddie Murphy did in his stand up "Raw" - about how white guys just cannot dance. Someone throw Rick a guitar, and quick! (before he wops Cheryl with one of those arms) The poor man just does not know what to do if there's music and no guitar in his hand, or a mic stand to lean on. - Michelle P.
