THEME FROM MISSION MAGIC
(Words and music by Rick Springfield)

Do you believe-you believe in magic
'Cause I believe-I believe that I do
Yes I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic
Your love will shine true

Do you believe-you believe in magic
'Cause I believe-I believe that I do
Yes I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic
Your love will shine true

If there's one thing
That the world needs
It's a magic singing song
And I'll teach it
To the whole world
And make them sing along
Love is magic
It's so easy
And it's not hard to do
'Cause everybody
Wants somebody
To give a little magic to

Do you believe-you believe in magic
'Cause I believe-I believe that I do
Yes I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic
Your love will shine true

I've seem so many
Unhappy people
Reaching out in vain
You got the power
To shower
Love like summer rain
Love is magic
It's so easy
And it's not hard to do
'Cause everybody
Wants somebody
To give a little magic to

Do you believe-you believe in magic
'Cause I believe-I believe that I do
Yes I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic
Your love will shine true

Do you believe-you believe in magic
'Cause I believe-I believe that I do
Yes I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic
Your love will shine true

If your mission is magic
Your love will shine true
If your mission is magic
Your love will shine true

We get to (or should I say *have* to, ha) listen to this song at the beginning of every episode of Mission Magic. I actually think it's a catchy little tune and it works perfectly with the cartoon. I also love the repeating of the word "believe" within the song. (the word "believe" when associated with Rick always reminds me of EFX). I'm not sure how much of an effort was made to make these songs stand alone outside the cartoon, I think some do and some don't. I know that if I tried to review these songs without watching the show, it'd be a lot harder. You really have to take them within the context of the episode and realize what their purpose is, and I think given that, they work really well. - rlh

I like this song! It's pretty simple, but it's catchy and has a positive feel about it. I think it was a perfect song for the opening to the Mission Magic cartoon. It pretty much sums it up. The show is about a teacher who is magic and takes her students…the adventurer's club…on magic adventures, solving mysteries. So the whole "do you believe, you believe in magic. 'Cause I believe, I believe that I do" are the right lyrics to `fit' the theme of the show.

I like the sound of the music throughout this song and how they blend so beautifully. My favorite lyric of all is when he says, "I've seen so many unhappy people, reaching out in vain. You've got the power, to shower…love like summer rain." I love how he sings that verse, as if he was passionate about it at the time. It is also a nice thought, one that's very optimistic! I think it's a good message for children (and adults). It's uplifting and seems to say that you DO have the power to make things happen and make the world a better place…if you just believe.

I like how Rick says that he'll "make" us sing along---"If there's one thing, that the world needs, it's a magic singing song. And I'll teach it to the whole world, and make them sing along." Well, he's done that in more ways than one since then. His songs are so full of hooks and catchy lyrics that get stuck in your head for weeks, it'd be hard NOT to sing along to Rick's music.

This song is definitely one of my favorites from the Mission Magic collection, even if it is light and has a `child-like' feel to it. Rick has so many songs that are `dark,' and I find it refreshing at times (even though I do love the darker songs the most) to hear songs from Rick that are positive and hopeful.
