LITTLE ROLAND LOST
(words and music by Darryl Cotton & Beeb Birtles)

I'm lost, I'm lost
Find me
I'm lost, I'm lost
Find me
I'm lost, I'm lost
Find me

He wondered too far now
He is lost and lonely
Little Roland all alone
'Cause he can't find his way

Wish I was home in the arms of my Mom
She's the one to protect me
But here I am in the woods by myself
Won't somebody find me

I'm lost, I'm lost
Find me
I'm lost, I'm lost
Find me

I see a path maybe this is the way
That leads to safety
No just a dead end
Leading to nowhere
Won't somebody find me

I'm lost, I'm lost,
Find me
I'm lost, I'm lost,
Find me

Little Roland see your field eyes
Little legs running wildly
Comes the night time
Strange noises
Guess he's lost forever

I'm lost, I'm lost,
Find me
I'm lost, I'm lost,
Find me

I'm lost, I'm lost,
Find me
I'm lost, I'm lost,
Find me
I'm lost, I'm lost,
Find me
I'm lost, I'm lost,
Find me ...

According to US

This is a very odd song to me and one I have mixed feelings about. I like the echoing effects….I like the voice…I kind of like the feel of it all…the music. I have to say though, in all honesty, I have NO clue what this song is `really' referring to. It goes on and on about Little Roland being lost. "I'm lost, I'm lost… find me." I'm not sure if this was written in the literal sense. The lyrics don't really bring anything to mind for me except just what is being said. It doesn't create a good story in my mind. But for some strange reason my mind goes to the Beatles when I hear this. This is one of those weird songs where I sort of like it, and I kind of don't. It's on the lower end of my "favorites list" out of all the non-Rick Zoot songs I've heard. And if memory serves me right….wasn't this supposed to be one of their hits?? I much prefer some of the other Zoot songs to this one. That sound effect of "find me" at the end (echoing?) is probably the "coolest" part of the whole song for me. -
